Piotruś is 8 years old and is raised almost all his life in a broken family. A single mother who has been separated from her alcoholic husband takes care of the child for 7 years. The child’s family situation is complex, and in the past the boy was often exposed to the difficult experiences. For several years, Piotruś has been struggling with many problems, including chronic constipation, refractory to treatment, which may be largely psychological (anxiety), anemia, speech disorders. Due to emotional difficulties, learning deficits and medical problems, the boy was postponed from starting school. Piotruś develops disgracefully, and irregularities in his development can be observed especially in the sphere of socio-emotional competences manifesting themselves in adaptive problems, a large tendency to excessively anxious reactions and somatization of symptoms, hypersensitivity, excessive excitability, problems in regulating emotions, in concentration of attention and motivation to act ; in the area of speech – difficulties in correctly articulating (the child’s speech is sometimes incomprehensible); perceptive functions, eye-hand coordination and graphomotorics. Despite the many difficulties Peter has to face every day and obstacles he has to overcome, he is a very joyful and kind child. What’s more, even though he needs help himself, he is always willing to help others. Any help, it may be financial support for therapeutic activities or the usual kindness and care that each of us can offer him, will be an invaluable value for him and a chance for a better life, and he will certainly be extremely grateful for it.
