Szymek is a nice and unique boy. He is fascinated by many things that most people often do not pay attention to and elements of the world that surrounds him. The boy is diagnosed with childhood autism. His life as a 10-year-old boy is different from the life of a typical 10-year-old. Szymek is afraid of many, objectively harmless things or situations, and his fear limits him very much and makes him unable to fully enjoy life. It is very difficult for him to establish and maintain any relations with people, and his behaviors are often perceived by others as strange and often become a reason to point out Szymek with his fingers. Stiffness, schematism, mannerisms, tics, self-stimulatory behaviors, echolalia – these are just some of the manifestations of Szymek’s disorder. Despite many difficulties and obstacles, in a world that the boy often cannot understand, Szymek should have the chance to enjoy life in the fullest possible way. Financial support, intended for therapeutic activities for him, would undoubtedly be a great and invaluable value for Szymek, giving him every day the opportunity to acquire a new skill, necessary in independent functioning and in communicating with people – an indispensable part of life in society.
