Foundation Team and Specialists

We are people full of passion and willing to help others. Every day we realize our mission in helping patients with FAS through accurate diagnosis and effective therapy. We beliave that every person (especially children) deserve a dignified life.
 
We are constantly improving our knowledge and skills. The methodology we use, we brought from the University of Washington in Seattle, USA, where we studied under the guidance of FAS diagnostic precursor – Ph. D. Susan J. Astley.
 
Our team consists of therapists, doctors, specialists, psychologists, physiotherapists and speech language pathologists, thanks to which we can provide comprehesive support for those in need.
 

Foundation Board

Janusz Morawiec

Founder and Chairman of the Fascinating Child’s World Foundation

Adopted, as he calls it, “by the wonderful and only parents he owes everything to.” Privately a loving husband and adoptive dad of two biys suffering from FAS. A fan of fast driving. He fulfills all his dreams, he is like time – he never stops. An empathic man with a big heart, claiming that the world around us is beautiful, you just need to properly use it. He sees every difficulty as another attempt that can only strengthen us and confirm our humanity.

President of the Fascinating Child’s World Foundation, owner of the POLSPRZĘT company, which he built from scratch, without any financial means. Janusz Morawiec is a friend of orphanages, practices in working with children suffering from FAS, having knowledge and experience, an expert in the provisions and rights of children suffering from FAS and other disorders. Participant of specialized training and observer of diagnoses conducted by Ph. D. Susan J. Astley at the University of Washington in Seattle (USA). Member of the interdisciplinary FASD diagnostic team. He completed many courses, trainings and workshops on trauma, behavioral disorders, attachment and mental illness in children and teenagers.

Barbara Morawiec

Board Member

Wife of the Founder and President of the Fascinating Child’s World Foundation. The second in order out of ten siblings, who from the age of 13 during mother’s illness, was a babysitter. Privately, a loving wife and adoptive mother of two boys suffering from FAS. A lover of flowers, birds singing in the spring and garden care. A woman with a big heart and culinary talent. Supporting us all in difficult situations by conversation, hearing and simple advice.

Member of the Board of the Fascinating Child’s World Foundation, practices in working with children suffering from FAS, undergoes many trainings and participates in conferences on the subject of FAS.

mgr Aleksandra Stokłosa-Wapienik

Board Member

A teacher of Russian, Polish and history with 26 years of experience. A person positively crazy, willing to help, curious about the world, a great lover of all kinds of animals. She believes that nothing is impossible to deal with: “if they throw her out the door, she will come back through the window.” She is troubled by children’s health problems and their impact on learning. She is interested in how to help a child with learning problems and how to transfer necessary knowledge.

Member of the Board of the Fascinating Child’s World Foundation, practices in working with children suffering from FAS, Asperger Syndrome.

 

mgr Sylwia Stokłosa

Board Member

A modest, emphatic, honest and always smiling person. In combination with the unlimited ability to acquire knowledge, she belongs to the elite of irreplaceable people. Dietitian, certified cosmetologist and Director of a large company. Privately, she loves traveling and riding a motorcycle. A woman with a big heart, who accidentally met children suffered from FAS on her way and decided that they could not be left alone. She is constantly expanding her knowledge of FAS, and devotes every free moment to work for the Foundation. She also participated in many volunteer trainings and campaigns.

An adoptive parent, an apprentice in raising and working with children with FAS. He took part in many trainings and workshops on FAS, trauma. Secretary of the Supervisory Board.

Specialists

Mariusz Kozik, M.D.

Doctor, psychotherapist

A doctor with 25 years of experience and huge knowledge in the field of psychotherapy. He worked in places such as: Rehabilitation Clinic in Wallenstadtberg in Switzerland, Cardiology Department of the Polish-American Heart Clinics in Ustroń, Provincial Hospital in Częstochowa, Department of Internal Diseases of the Silesian Hospital in Cieszyn, Cardiology Department of the Health Resort in Ustroń. Currently, he is a co-owner of the Salus Clinic in Ustroń and works as a consultant doctor at the Lewin Addiction Treatment Center in Wisła.

mgr Alina Zorychta

Speech language pathologist during neurologopedic postgraduate studies, Polish philologist, specialist in hand therapy, FASD specialist, Provider Neuroflow ATS

A graduate of Polish philology with a specialization in speech therapy at the Pedagogical University of Cracow, currently during postgraduate neurologopedic studies with elements of typhlologopedia at the Krakow Academy of A. Frycz-Modrzewski. She conducts diagnosis and speech therapy for children, teenagers and adults. She attended the FAS / FASD diagnostic training by Dr Susan J. Astley and her team at the University of Washington in Seattle; member of the FAS / FASD diagnostic team at the Fascinating Child’s World Foundation. Author of the speech therapy blog Zabierz Głos.

She works with children with hearing impairments, speech difficulties, autism, Asperger syndrome, Down syndrome, aphasia, alalia, and children with other developmental disorders. She specializes in such areas as dyslexia therapy, speech defect therapy, primary function therapy, in building the language system in non-speaking children and in teaching syllable reading. She participated in trainings and conferences aimed at broadening and improving the therapeutic workshop, including the training of Hand Therapy, in workshops on feeding disorders and in scientific and training workshops on diagnosis and therapy of phoneme implementation. At work, she aims at the holistic development of the child, using elements of the Krakow Method.

mgr Joanna Talaga

Psychologist, pedagogue, FASD specialist

A graduate of psychology at the University of Silesia in Katowice with specialties in Psychology of Human and Family Development in the life cycle as well as Psychology of work and organization. She completed postgraduate studies at the SWPS University in Applied Behavior Analysis – preparation for work with people with developmental and behavioral disorders. She acquired her teaching qualifications as part of the Teacher Training Block at the University of Silesia in Katowice.

She participated and constantly participates in many trainings, courses, workshops and conferences aimed at expanding and updating her own knowledge and skills in order to best conduct diagnoses and therapeutic activities.

On a daily basis, she deals with diagnosis and psychological therapy for children, teenagers and adults, and also conducts group classes as part of Social Skills Training.

She specializes in the diagnosis and therapy of children and teenagers with the FASD spectrum. She completed a course in the field of FASD 4-Digit Diagnostic Code at the University of Washington in Seattle and participated in training organized by the FASDDPN at the Clinic of the University of Washington in the USA, under the supervision of Dr. Susan J Astley. A member of the FAS / FASD diagnostic team at the Fascinitating Child’s World Foundation.

Working with children and their parents / guardians is at the same time her passion, and she gained her experience in this area by completing professional internships in psychology and pedagogy at schools (primary, junior high school, secondary school) and psychological and pedagogical counseling, working as a teacher in kindergarten, being an educator in sociotherapeutic camps, animator of games for children and often a volunteer (among others in the Upper Silesian Children’s Health Center, Single Mother House).

A happy person, emphatic and always willing to help. Passionate about running, mountain hiking and traveling.

mgr Beata Widera-Brzóska

Psychotherapist, psychologist, pedagogue

Pedagogue, psychologist, psychotherapist during comprehensive psychotherapeutic training at the School of Psychodynamic Psychotherapy at the Krakow Psychodynamic Center. School of Psychotherapy is a course recomended by the Polish Psychological Association and by the Polish Psychodynamic Psychotherapy Association. A graduate of pedagogical studies at the University of Silesia in Katowice and psychological studies at the School of Social Psychology in Katowice. Since 2003, she has been associated with children, youth and adults as an educator, pedagogue, therapist and psychologist.

She completed postgraduate studies in the field of:
– oligophrenopedagogy at the University of Silesia in Katowice
– psychological and pedagogical diagnosis and therapy at the Pedagogical University of Cracow. She completed many courses and trainings extending the pedagogical and therapeutic workshop, among others;
– W. Sherborne Developmental Movement Method,
– II degree course of Behavioral Therapy,
– Specialist Diagnostics and Therapy Program – Sensor-Komplex,
– EEG Biofeedback course I,
– A tool for a child psychologist,
– Setting in a box, completed a course of method used in child therapy.

The course was carried out at the “Little Prince” Association of Children and Youth Psychotherapy in Krakow. In 2006, she started working with adults struggling with mental health difficulties, running the Daily Support Center for people with mental disorders in the Cieszyn poviat as a manager. Since 2011, she has been working for people with mental health difficulties and overcoming stereotypes and prejudices in the public perception. Supports the activities of associations for the development and support of children, young people and adults; member of the Cieszyn Association “Więź” and the Association for the Harmonious Development of Children and Youth “Nasz Dzieci”. Performs diagnosis and therapy in the field of educational and emotional difficulties of children and adolescents, adolescence difficulties, problems in the functioning of the family. She conducts individual psychotherapy based on the psychodynamic paradigm. She regularly supervises her work.

mgr Łukasz Kisiała

Physiotherapist (osteopath during specialization) with pedagogical preparation


Physiotherapist, certified masseur and certified craniosacral therapist. A graduate of Physiotherapy at the WSA in Bielsko-Biała. A graduate of the massage school at ZDZ in Katowice.

Participant of the craniosacral therapy based on osteopathy at the Practical Knowledge Center in Warsaw. He gained additional knowledge and skills during such trainings as Functional Manual Therapy or Medical examination and documentation in physiotherapy.

Fascinator and lover of work in the field of physiotherapy. He gains experience in physiotherapy, massage and craniosacral therapy while constantly working with patients. He is constantly expanding his knowledge, he is a person willing to help and is distinguished by his extraordinary patience. Very liked by children, he is constantly expanding his knowledge to improve their quality of life. Football and running enthusiast.

mgr Dorota Wisełka

Biofeedback therapist, pedagogue, surdopedagogue, oligophrenopedagogue

Certified EEG Biofeedback therapist, pedagogue, surdopedagogue, oliogophrenopedagogue, expert in running educational institutions. English teacher with many years of experience. Director of the Primary School in Goleszów.

mgr Marta Szymik – Telesz

Speech language pathologist, FASD specialist


A graduate in political science – specializing in Media and Journalism at the University of Wroclaw. She completed postgraduate pedagogical qualification studies and postgraduate speech therapy qualifying studies. She participated in many trainings and courses, among others in the training “The use of the 4-digit FASD Diagnostic Questionnaire in the practical, quantitative diagnosis of disorders from the Spectrum of Alcohol-Related Congenital Developmental Disorders in interdisciplinary teams.” She is constantly expanding her knowledge of FAS. She loves working with children.

A journalist by passion. Reporter, presenter in the local media. Ambitious, open to new challenges, curious about the world. Privately, animal and dance lover. She loves traveling and Italian cuisine.

mgr Marcin Drózd

Social skills training therapist, pedagogue

Certified therapist for Social Skills Training, graduate of post-graduate studies in Autism, Asperger syndrome and other comprehensive developmental disorders – diagnosis and therapy, and Oligophrenopedagogy – education and rehabilitation of people with intellectual disabilities. From September 2019, during post-graduate studies in the field of Pedagogical Therapy.

In class, he deals with issues related to emotions and their feelings / manifestations, reactions appropriate to emotions and feelings, social intercourse. He also tries to work out ways of behavior with children in everyday situations, both “ordinary” ones such as visiting the store, as well as those that can cause extreme emotions – the experience of violence.

Ph. D. Susan J. Astley

Profesor Epidemiologii, School of Public Health, Profesor of Pediatrics, School of Medicine

Director of the FASD Diagnostic and Prevention Network (FAS DPN). Unquestionable authority in the field of FASD. Creator of FASD 4-Digit Diagnostic Code. Ph. D. Astley received bachelor’s dagree in biology, a master’s dagree in radiology and physiology, and a Ph.D. dagree for her work in epidemiology. She is a member of the American Society of Public Health and the Alcoholism Research Society and a member of the research association at the Center of the Development of Human and Disability at the University of Washington. Ph. D. Astley is the Director of the Washington State Fetal Alcohol Syndrome Diagnosis and Prevention Network (FAS DPN). The mission of FAS DPN is to prevent fetal alcohol spectrum disorder (FASD) through screening, diagnostics, intervention, education, public health policy and research. The basis of this mission was to create the world’s largest, most comprehesive clinical/research database to date on more than 2700 patients diagnosted with FASD over the past 21 years.
